ADRAG Launches Powerful Advocacy Program to Combat Alzheimer’s and Dementia

Newton, NC,  July 26, 2024 – The Alzheimer’s / Dementia Rotary Action Group (ADRAG) is proud to announce the launch of its new Advocacy Program, a groundbreaking initiative designed to harness the collective power of Rotarians and Rotaractors in the fight against Alzheimer’s and dementia. With the number of individuals affected by these devastating conditions rapidly increasing, ADRAG’s mission has never been more urgent. We call upon passionate and dedicated Rotarians to step forward and become District Ambassadors and Club Champions, leading the charge to make a significant impact in our communities.

A Growing Crisis

Alzheimer’s and dementia are not just health issues; they are humanitarian crises affecting millions of families worldwide. Every three seconds, someone in the world develops dementia, with Alzheimer’s being the most common form. This growing epidemic demands immediate and concerted action. ADRAG is committed to providing support, raising awareness, and funding critical research to combat these conditions, but we cannot do it alone. We need the collective strength and dedication of Rotarians everywhere.

The ADRAG Advocacy Program

The ADRAG Advocacy Program is designed to empower Rotarians and Rotaractors to become key advocates for our cause within their districts and clubs. As an advocate, you will play a vital role in spreading awareness, driving engagement, and promoting fundraising initiatives to support ADRAG’s mission.

Become a District Ambassador

District Ambassadors are the backbone of our advocacy efforts, serving as the primary liaisons between ADRAG and the Rotary and Rotaract Club Champions in their district. This prestigious role involves leadership, coordination, and support to ensure the success of ADRAG initiatives across multiple clubs.

Responsibilities of District Ambassadors:

  • Leadership and Coordination: Oversee and support Club Champions within your district.
  • Training and Support: Provide training sessions and ongoing support to Club Champions.
  • Resource Management: Distribute ADRAG resources and facilitate sharing of best practices.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track progress, collect reports, and provide feedback to ADRAG.
  • Advocacy and Engagement: Promote ADRAG’s mission at district events and engage with district leaders.

Become a Club Champion

Club Champions are the heart of our advocacy program, acting as key representatives for ADRAG within their Rotary or Rotaract clubs. This vital role involves inspiring, mobilizing, and coordinating club members in support of ADRAG’s mission and initiatives.

Responsibilities of Club Champions:

  • Awareness and Communication: Regularly share ADRAG’s mission and updates with club members.
  • Fundraising and Engagement: Organize and lead participation in ADRAG-driven fundraising initiatives.
  • Training and Resource Utilization: Train club members on ADRAG’s tools and provide ongoing support.
  • Collaboration and Best Practices: Collaborate with other Club Champions and participate in district-wide initiatives.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report on the club’s activities and achievements.

Incentives and Recognition

District Ambassadors and Club Champions will receive special recognition from ADRAG, including certificates, badges, and mentions in newsletters and events. They will also have exclusive access to leadership development opportunities, training sessions, and resources. This is a unique chance to grow as a leader, connect with like-minded individuals, and be acknowledged for your dedication to an urgent and noble cause.
