The Alzheimer’s / Dementia Rotary Action Group (ADRAG) continues to expand its global network of advocates as its Ambassador and Club Champion Program gains momentum across Rotary districts around the world.
Designed to increase awareness, education, advocacy, and community engagement around Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, the program empowers Rotarians to serve as local champions for ADRAG’s mission within their clubs, districts, and communities.
A significant milestone in this growth is the appointment of Col (R) Syed Ali Jafri as ADRAG Ambassador for Rotary District 3272 in Pakistan.
Jafri brings extensive leadership experience in dementia care and advocacy through his role as Senior Vice President of Alzheimer’s Pakistan, an organization that operates the country’s only dedicated Alzheimer’s and dementia care facility. Serving a nation of more than 250 million people, Alzheimer’s Pakistan has provided specialized dementia care and support services for nearly two decades.
In his acceptance of the Ambassador role, Jafri expressed his commitment to advancing ADRAG’s mission throughout Pakistan and Rotary District 3272.
“I am honoured to accept the role of ADRAG Ambassador for Rotary District 3272 and look forward to supporting ADRAG’s mission of awareness, education, advocacy and service for those affected by Alzheimer’s and Dementia,” Jafri said.
He also highlighted ongoing efforts to expand dementia care services in Pakistan, noting that Alzheimer’s Pakistan is currently in advanced discussions with government officials regarding the establishment of the country’s second dedicated Alzheimer’s and dementia care center in Peshawar.
The appointment reflects ADRAG’s continuing commitment to building partnerships with leaders and organizations already making a meaningful impact in the dementia community. Through its Ambassador Program, ADRAG seeks to connect Rotary leaders with healthcare professionals, researchers, caregivers, nonprofit organizations, and community advocates who share a common goal of improving the lives of those affected by dementia.
The Club Champion Program complements this effort by empowering individual Rotarians to serve as advocates within their local clubs. Club Champions help introduce ADRAG resources, organize educational programs, promote dementia-friendly community initiatives, and connect local service opportunities with ADRAG’s broader global mission.
Together, ADRAG Ambassadors and Club Champions form a growing international network dedicated to increasing awareness, reducing stigma, supporting caregivers, promoting brain health, and helping communities better understand the challenges faced by individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
As the prevalence of dementia continues to rise worldwide, the need for education, advocacy, and support has never been greater. ADRAG’s expanding Ambassador and Club Champion network demonstrates the power of Rotary’s global reach and its ability to unite leaders across cultures, professions, and continents in service of a common cause.
The addition of leaders such as Col (R) Syed Ali Jafri represents more than a new appointment—it represents another step forward in ADRAG’s vision of creating a worldwide movement dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
ADRAG welcomes Col (R) Syed Ali Jafri to the Ambassador Program and looks forward to working alongside him and other leaders around the world as the organization continues to grow its global impact.
